CHAOS Industries has unveiled VESPID, a new family of very low-cost interceptors designed to counter Group 1-3 drones and one-way attack (OWA) threats. The lineup includes the man-portable VESPID Mk 0 for austere environments and the higher-performance VESPID Mk 1, optimized for fixed-site defense with a multi-tube launcher. Designed for affordable, high-volume production, the interceptors use commercial components and are intended to integrate with existing sensors, command-and-control networks, and launch platforms. VESPID is interoperable with CHAOS Industries’ VANQUISH PRIME radar systems, providing an integrated detect-to-defeat capability while minimizing operator workload. The company plans an initial production capacity of 12,000 interceptors annually, scalable to 50,000 units per year, aiming to provide militaries with a cost-effective and sustainable response to the growing threat of large-scale drone attacks.
