CounterUASWorld Summary
The European Council has selected DECODER (DronE and Counter-Drone European Resolve) as one of the first European Defence Projects of Common Interest (EDPCI), making it eligible for EU funding under the European Defence Industry Programme (EDIP). The initiative aims to help participating countries develop, scale, and deploy counter-drone capabilities to address critical defense gaps across Europe. As drone threats continue to evolve, DECODER will support joint procurement, industrial cooperation, and the development of interoperable counter-UAS technologies. The project is part of the EU’s broader effort to strengthen defense readiness, enhance strategic autonomy, and boost the capacity of the European defense industry. By fostering collaboration among member states, DECODER is expected to accelerate the fielding of drone detection, tracking, and defeat solutions while improving Europe’s ability to protect military forces, critical infrastructure, and borders from unmanned threats.
