Helsing Unveils Contra AI Air Defense System

Helsing has introduced Contra, an AI-enabled air defense system designed to counter large-scale drone and missile attacks through a unified command-and-control architecture. Built around Helsing’s Altra platform, Contra fuses sensor data and coordinates multiple effectors within a single operational picture, enabling the detection and engagement of large numbers of simultaneous threats. Alongside the system, Helsing unveiled two new interceptors: the jet-powered AD-1 Inferno, designed for loitering and repeated engagement attempts, and the rocket-powered AD-2 Ambush, capable of speeds up to Mach 2.5 and ranges exceeding 20 km. Both interceptors use mid-course guidance from ground-based radars and onboard radar seekers for terminal engagement.
