CounterUASWorld Summary
L3Harris Technologies has received a contract worth up to $60 million to continue development of a long-range interceptor for the U.S. Army’s Xtended Range Counter-sUAS Missile (XRC) program. Having advanced to the program’s second phase, the company will conduct flight testing of a fully integrated interceptor designed to defeat small and medium-sized drones as well as traditional short-range air defense threats. The interceptor incorporates advanced propulsion, seeker, and guidance technologies to deliver increased range, speed, and operational flexibility. L3Harris is also designing the system for compatibility with existing U.S. military launch platforms, enabling rapid integration into current air defense architectures. The program aims to provide a modular, cost-effective solution capable of countering evolving aerial threats while strengthening the Army’s layered counter-UAS and air defense capabilities.
