CounterUASWorld Summary
Raytheon, an RTX business, has secured $729 million in contracts to supply components of the U.S. Army’s Low, slow, small, unmanned aircraft Integrated Defeat System (LIDS) to the United States, Qatar and Jordan. The awards mark the first international sales of Raytheon’s Ku-band Radio Frequency Sensor (KuRFS) and Coyote effectors. KuRFS provides 360-degree threat detection, while Coyote interceptors use kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities to defeat individual drones and swarms. The contracts cover fixed-site and mobile LIDS configurations. RTX is expanding Coyote production and developing upgrades to improve launch speed, interceptor velocity and high-altitude range as demand for counter-drone capabilities grows.
