CounterUASWorld Summary
The Spanish Army has received its first Aracne counter-drone systems, delivered to the 71st Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment. Developed by a consortium of Indra, EM&E Group and TRC, Aracne integrates radar, RF and electro-optical sensors with command-and-control, electronic warfare and kinetic capabilities. The regiment has completed operational evaluation of the system’s soft-kill mode, which disrupts drones electronically, while hard-kill testing is planned for a future Atlas exercise. Spain’s €30 million programme covers 14 systems for the armed forces: 10 for the Army, two for the Air and Space Force and two for the Navy. Army deliveries include five fixed and five mobile configurations. The Ministry of Defense is also preparing a follow-on Aracne contract, with its value and scope yet to be announced.
