KONGSBERG demonstrated the capabilities of its Drone Detection Radar (DR 100) during the Interpol Counter-UAS test at Gardermoen Airport in Norway. Deployed in a quad-radar configuration on a pickup vehicle, the system became operational within five minutes of arrival and transmitted real-time sensor data to a remote control center via a secure 5G connection. Designed for mobile operations, the DR 100 can detect, track, and classify targets while on the move, including low-flying drones that are often difficult for conventional radars to identify. The exercise focused on drone detection, tracking, and classification in a civilian airport environment. KONGSBERG also highlighted the radar’s integration potential with broader counter-UAS architectures, including interceptor drones, RF jammers, short-range missiles, and weapon systems, supporting the protection of critical infrastructure and airspace.
